“Do you want to go to bed?” She moved aside to give him more space to shift his leg again and he picked up the remote to pause the movie.

“What for?”

He glanced at his leg with a frown but before he could say anything more she leaned over and kissed him. “You’re a good kisser and I don’t want to sleep through it this time. You promised me a raincheck.”

“So you want to make out in my bed?” he asked, sounding as if he was really confused by that. “And then what?”

“Yeah, and then what.” She nodded enthusiastically and they both ended up laughing so hard that any tension between them dissolved. Even so she asked, “Does your leg hurt? Is it bothering you?”
